It's September and time to remember that it's back to wearing the BSA Field Uniform, typically called Class A.

Class A should be worn for all meetings and while traveling to and from camp. It's especially important when going before a board of review and for your Scoutmaster conferences.

The Boy Scouts of America has updated the Golf Merit Badge to now include a Disc Golf option.

Disc golf is far more accessible to play than golf (and typically free).

There are a few changes to advancement requirements and some merit badge requirements for effective January 1st.

The Boy Scouts of America's Youth Protection guidelines discourages one on one contact between Scouts and leaders. That's not just for in-person but also online and electronic communications. To comply with these guidelines Troop 22 has established an account on GroupMe, a group texting application. The smart-phone app is free to download and uses text messaging to share with the entire troop.

We all love and need gear. Alps Mountaineering has a program that gives registered Scouts and Scouters a discount on the gear we typically use. The backpacking tents the troop has are from Alps. There's a lot of other gear beside tents too, sleeping bags, rain gear, backpacks and camp chairs come to mind.
